Super Boomerman 3!

This, curiously enough was the first episode we recorded with Bavdeep- we always like to start the recording sessions with a multiplayer challenge to sort of us warm us up before doing the long haul- I.E the LP's. This episode features our first 5 player multiplayer challenge, with Bavdeep being in no real danger of winning any points. So, here it is- enjoy!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 22

Hey everybody, another episode of Fallout: New Vegas here. Bavdeeps here too! In this episode we tackle the brotherhood of steel- they're kinda a bunch of dicks in the new Fallout series. Nick touches on it briefly in this episode, and quite possibly the one before this. In the first Fallout, the brotherhood weren't exactly the nicest guys on the block, but they weren't the xenophobic assholes they are in Fallout 3, and to a lesser extent New Vegas. There a pretty much 2 main ways to get into the brotherhood base. You can murder everything and anything in your way, aka Helga'd. Or, you can be forced to help them, they put a battle royale style bomb collar on you and make you do their stupid quests. If you have a particular companion with you it's possible to get in with her acting as a speech check, by her we're referring to Veronica. It's kinda a dick move either way.

Rayman Origins part 24

It's finally here, the end of our first LP. It's been a long time since we've wanted to do this channel and never before had we thought we would get as far as we have done today. We want to thank you all for staying with us this far, even if it's only the dedicated few- just one person enjoying our videos makes all this effort worth while. So, here it is- the finale of Rayman Origins. Nick has also released the third part of his Walking Dead LP, I beleive that makes us up to date with what he has released- or near enough. According to him though, he's finished the first episode and started another LP, to bridge the gap between waiting for him to start episode 2!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 21

Hey guys, the latest episode of Fallout: New Vegas is here- this time featuring a special guest, Bavdeep! Bavdeep is a long term friend of the group, and helped us shape our channel by offering advice and wise council. He's wishing to start his own YouTube channel- if he'll be partnered with us remains to be seen- but for the time being, he's got his very own stream . This episode features a bug both Nick, Devyn & Bavdeep in all their collective hours of New Vegas have never seen, and it was a bit of an odd one... Enjoy!

Rayman origins part 23

Hey everybody, Rayman Origins part 23 is here- there's only one more left, if we've worked out how Rick edits the videos correctly! Hey everybody, it's Nick- this time from JoypadAthletics. I'm just posting here, the more well known blog- to let everyone know that whilst my LP of the Walking Dead will be posted here, and uploaded to the BSGTV YouTube channel, it will be appearing on my blog and my channel before it does here. Only by a couple of days, but I thought you guys might want to know where to look if you want early access- my next video will be coming up Saturday, and sadly at this point I had not figured out the whole resolution thing- but it's fixed (for SD) by episode four. I hope you guys are enjoying this little side project, depending on how this goes I may well LP other games when I've finished with The Walking Dead, or at least until episode 3 comes out. Just to speed up getting to the videos I'm happy with, I'll be releasing part 2 & 3 Saturday- what a treat!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 20

It's a bit of a long episode this week, we try to aim for 20 minutes- roughly- each episode. Sometimes we just don't want to stop half way into a quest line or a train of thought. We do feel a little bad for eating up so much of your time, but the episode is as long as it is for a pretty good reason. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Rayman origins part 22

Hey guys, the next part of Let's Play: Rayman Origins is now live, as with the last post there is little to say here- we won't have much to say until the last episode of the series and the after LP write up (If Nick can be bothered) Speaking of Nick though, he's got 2 more episodes of his LP uploaded- and 3 more left to edit, he's messed up a little in the rendering for episode 2 and 3, but promises us that he's learned a little more for 4- so it should be all good! Expect to see those videos this Saturday, thanks for watching!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 19

Hey guys, in this episode of Let's Play: Fallout: New Vegas we pay one last visit to the king and totally screw up the mission that crocker gave us. This is another quest that has multiple resolutions- but we appear  to have none of the skills needed to frame someone else for Pacers death- so yeah, we kinda of just have to Helga him. At this point in the game we're pretty much locked into doing quests for the NCR, or at least we're going to want  to finish the quest line- it's got some pretty fun quests, good XP, the ability to obtain an awesome hat AND the chance to piss off a major power in the Fallout universe, we're going to have some fun here. Enjoy!

Rayman origins part 21

Episode 21 of Rayman Origins: This episode is the beginning of the end. The end of the main story at least, as promised we do tackle the ol' ruby teeth guy. Christ it was a pain, to the point that we had to plan to do post commentary. We're still enjoying this game, but I'm afraid there's little to talk about in terms of game play or story any more. So for know, I'll leave you guys with episode 21- enjoy!

Multiplayer Challenge S2E01: Worms Reloaded Redux

Hello everybody, season 2 of the multiplayer challenges is here! As promised, the winner, Nick will be able to choose the game he wants to play next- even if it's a game we've played before, and as you might be able to tell from the title- we've played this one before. That's right, we're playing worms reloaded on the PC and we had a bloody good time doing so too- this game is pretty sweet, it doesn't exactly bring anything new to the worms series- perhaps a few items? It's just the game we all know and love just dolled up and with local co-op. Couldn't really ask for more. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 18

In this episode of Fallout: New Vegas we continue working for the king and Jordan shows some serious hate for  all things Wayne. We can't help but feel that freeside should of played a bigger part in the game than it did, in our  view at least. It would of been cool to have to work our way up, becoming more famous- and consequently more of a target, until we're renowned enough to allow the gates to be opened for us, I suppose we might of complained if it turned out this way too, but Vegas itself is more of a quest hub than a plot point and we feel that it's a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Rayman Origins Part 20

This episode we finish up the last door boss and finish one more tricky treasure, only one left! To be honest, this boss fight was a little lacklustre in comparison to the previous bosses. We've almost ran out of stuff to say in these posts. However, the last episode is going to be a little different than our other recordings- we'll be doing post commentary. Why are we doing post though? That's going to have to remain a secret, but we can tell you this much- it doesn't have anything to do with us messing up!

 

Fallout: New Vegas part 17

Hey everybody, we're finally done with the Boomers! Well, we deal with them a little bit in the latest video but we tackle a much more interesting quest line for the next couple of videos. Once again, Nick totally gets everything wrong- although we're not surprised about that any more.

In this episode Nick mentions how The Kings "sort of" worship Elvis as a God, well- he sort of wants to elaborate on that because whilst it's not wrong- it doesn't convey how funny we think it is. The general idea of it is that the guys that found the impersonation school *thought* that people before the war worshipped Elvis as a king, not the Freeside gang themselves. Just wanted to clear that up, the concept behind the kings is what we feel to be one of the funnier part of the game- of course, there is loads funny dialogue, but to cover it all would extend this LP well beyond our natural life spans.

Rayman origins part 19

Today's episode of Rayman: Origins marks the beginning of the end, we start the angsty abyss- the last boss door as we like to call it. We're all very glad to start enjoying this game again, as you guys may remember we had a little bit of a sour situation with this game for a while- but now we're back into the full swing of enjoying it. From memory, there's one more level we didn't enjoy, but the rest is smooth sailing. Not long until we've finished our first LP, we hope you enjoy it as much as we (normally) do!

Multiplayer Challenge Season Finale: 007: Nightfire

This came around a lot faster than any of us thought it would of, the finale of season one. We've recorded two episodes into season 2 already, it seems our work will never end. That, of course, is fantastic. At the time of posting, we've finished this season- and our first LP, Rayman: Origins. It's been a dream of our friend circle to have a gaming YouTube channel, and despite the fact we're not the most popular in the world it doesn't cheapen our efforts, and it doesn't cheapen you fantastic few of you that enjoy our videos enough to subscribe (and the even smaller group reads this blog, but still)

So, here it is- the finale.

Fallout: New Vegas Part 16

True to the Helga way, we're scraping by and putting in the bare minimum of effort in solving our problems (this, in fact, turns out to be more effort via searching for drugs and skill books) The first quest we tackle (repairing the solar array)  is an example of how having multiple resolutions to a quest is a great idea- allowing a wide range of players to enjoy and complete the game in various ways. That being said, we feel like the game could of went further still to accommodate different players. Like we've said many times over, a strength intimidate options needs to show up many more times than it does- it seems foolish that we've got maxed out strength and can do so little (non-killing related) things with it. Stuff like breaking open locks, scaring people into doing what we want and other forcing related stuff. Just a few ideas of course, but in places in feels like the game is catering to a certain type of player and to hell with a strength character and that is just a bad idea.

Rayman origins part 18

This episode of Rayman marks the return of the tricky treasure rage, and it's a big one. Oh boy, you should hear the final celebration it's insane. It was about 3 in the morning and we just completely exploded. But we can tell you, it is seriously satisfying to do something you've failed at that many times. This tricky treasure taught us that it's best to do the treasure after all the levels, our rage had transferred over to the rest of the levels- something we do not want to happen. That being said, we really enjoyed the the levels after the chest- and the boss fight, however much we may of complained, is our favourite in the game. Enjoy!

Fallout: New Vegas Part 15

Episode 15 of Fallout New Vegas had been hidden away on the playlist for a while, so some of you may of seen it before it was official released- so you've only just spoiled it for yourself! Anyway, this episode marks about half of the Boomers miscellaneous junk being completed. Apart from that, there's no much to really say. But, we did feel like we hated on the Boomers more than we should of- it's not as bad as we say, but doing WoW quests for these guys does tend to grate on the soul.

Rayman origins part 17

And with the latest release, we dive into the 3third boss zone the luscious lakes that strangely enough starts inside hell itself. Also in this episode, we claim we're going to try and use more teamwork and take the game a little slower. Guess how that turns out? A hint, if you need one- not very well at all. At time of posting, we've completed the game- the teeth and all. We've decided our next LP- and it's going to be played by someone that hasn't played it before, and only one member of the group has played it before. Multiplayer Challenge: Mario Smash Football.

The sad truth of these multiplayer challenges is that Mario will feature heavily, not that the games are bad- a few of us grew up with them and loved it- but these days you just don't get many 4 player split screen multiplayer games. We try and mix it up with the 2v2, winners vs winners, losers vs losers model and we hope it keeps it fresh. Anyway, the penultimate episode of season one is here! We will be covering the Wii version of this game at a later point in time (spoilers), a game Nick & Rick are very fond of. Those of you that recall the Wii version will know that online there was a "player of the day" segment, together Nick and Rick managed to become that player- they're little claim to fame.
